Approximately 5500 pieces of incoming correspondence and two ledgers of the Urbana, Ohio Banking Company (1814-42), and the Urbana and Champaign Mutual Insurance Company (1831-59), and Glenn's Bank of Urbana (1840-59), all controlled by John Hough James (1800-81.) The papers deal with financial transactions of the three banks and some papers relate to the Mad River and Lake Erie Railroad Company (1832-55.).
